The Determination of The Relationships Between Maritime Logistics Service Capabilities And Firm Performance: An Application in Maritime Transport Businesses Operating in Turkey

Abstract

Due to the globalization of economy, the maritime transport logistics are playing a vital role in logistics field. In this context, this study's aim is to determine whether maritime logistics service capabilities and causal relationships between firm's performances. In an attempt to these aims and based literature of business administration, logistics and maritime business administration search model and connected to it hypothesis are developed. Research model and hypothesis are analyzed 377 managers of maritime transport businesses that are active in Turkey on transportation by merchant ships of freight. According to survey diagnosis, capabilities of maritime logistics service, firm performance has positive effected, in addition information integration capabilities of maritime logistics service capabilities that have the most impact on financial and customer service performance, as well as the capability of the speed and reliability of maritime logistics capabilities, financial, and customer service on performance has emerged that there is no impact.

Deniz Ulaştırma Lojistiği Hizmet Yetenekleri İle Firma Performansı Arasındaki İlişkilerin İncelenmesi: Türkiye’de Faaliyet Gösteren Deniz Ulaştırma İşletmelerinde Bir Uygulama


Öz

Ekonominin küreselleşmesi nedeniyle, deniz ulaştırma lojistiği, lojistik alanında çok önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Bu çerçevede çalışmanın amacı, deniz ulaştırma lojistiği hizmet yeteneklerinin belirlenmesi, bu yetenekler ile firma performansı arasındaki nedensel ilişkileri ortaya çıkartılmasıdır. Bu amaçlara yönelik olarak, işletme yönetimi, lojistik ve denizcilik işletmeleri yönetimi literatürüne dayandırılarak araştırma modeli ve hipotezler geliştirilmiştir. Araştırma modeli ve hipotezler, Türkiye’de faaliyet gösteren ve ticaret gemileriyle yük taşımacılığı yapan, deniz ulaştırma işletmelerinin 377 yöneticisinden anket yoluyla elde edilen veriler kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre, deniz ulaştırma lojistik hizmet yetenekleri ile finansal ve müşteri hizmetleri performansı arasında anlamlı ilişkiler olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca deniz ulaştırma lojistik hizmet yeteneklerinden bilgi entegrasyon yeteneğinin finansal ve müşteri hizmetleri performansı üzerinde en fazla etkiye sahip yetenek olduğu, bunun yanı sıra deniz ulaştırma lojistik hizmet yeteneklerinden hız ve güvenilirlik yeteneğinin, finansal ve müşteri hizmetleri performansı üzerinde bir etkisinin olmadığı ortaya çıkmıştır.
